Care with a Difference Arts and Crafts

Every Monday, Care With A Difference presents Arts and Crafts

Our Arts and Crafts Session runs every Monday 10am till 2.30pm. These sessions not only provide a great social experience as everyone mucks in and helps each other, but also helps people with a learning disability explore and improve their creative skills. From card making, creating pom poms, and painting to cooking and making seasonal items, there is always something to create and take home.

We have witnessed the benefits of these sessions in all of our service users but one in particular has shown great improvement which is worth mentioning. When this gentleman first joined us he needed persuading to even come into the room and now he looks forward to coming and cuts and sticks and makes cards. He will join in with the afternoon activities and laughs and jokes with everyone in the room.

The afternoons are spent having a fun time and playing games. Some of our more confident service users like to be bingo callers and we all have a laugh learning all the funny bingo calls. One of their favourite activities is the parachute. They like running under it and especially like the washing machine where they spin around. We have even mastered this with a wheelchair!

In summary, Arts and Crafts followed by an activity session is an all-round benefit for everyone by increasing creativity and building confidence.
